Bell Township, PA – A Punxsutawney man was scammed out of $1,000 by someone claiming to be from Publisher’s Clearing House.
The 76-year-old man reportedly was contacted by someone using the name Patrick Alley, who then convinced the man to send him $1,000 between Jan. 25 and Feb. 5.
Police remind you to never send unknown people your credit card information or gift cards.
If someone claims you have won a contest you do not remember entering, that is a sign of a scam. If you have questions about whether something might be a scam, please contact your local police.
