Mumbai: Matunga police have apprehended a 31-year-old Bengaluru man who is accused of defrauding investors by promising large returns on investments in crypto mining schemes. According to police, the accused has been identified as Mohammad Jabir, who developed a smartphone app for a Crypto mining investment scam.
A teacher from a Matunga-based school recently approached the police with a complaint that he had been defrauded of Rs 2.47 lakh under the scheme, according to the police.
According to the police, the teacher first got a text message on his phone promising investors daily returns of Rs 2,000.
