GARDEN CITY, NY — The Garden City Police Department reported the following incidents for the week ending March 15.
March 7
- Items were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on Westbury Road.

- At 11 p.m., a vehicle on Franklin Avenue was stopped due to the headlights not being on and impeding traffic. It was determined the driver, a 34-year-old woman, was driving while intoxicated with an 11-year-old passenger in the vehicle. She was arrested and charged with felony DWI (Leandra’s Law), endangering the welfare of a minor, possession of an open alcoholic beverage, impeding traffic, and headlamps not activated.
- Firefighters and officers responded to Adelphi University for a fire alarm and determined the cause to be burnt food.
- The IRS advised a resident that someone used her identity without permission to file a fraudulent tax return.
March 10
- A truck driver on St. James St. South was charged with driving in a “No Commercial Vehicle” zone and a suspended license.
- Police investigated a report of lost or stolen licenses plates on Old Country Road.
- A driver on St. James St. South was charged with passing a Stop sign and driving with a suspended license.
- A driver on Franklin Avenue was charged with driving with two license suspensions and improper license plates.
