Netflix’s The Tinder Swindler claims Simon Leviev is a scam artist and emotional predator that has absconded with millions – so why isn’t he in jail?

In The Tinder Swindler, Simon Leviev schemes millions of dollars from friends and lovers, carrying on a fraud of epic proportions but has never gone to jail for it. Debuting on Netflix on February 2, The Tinder Swindler quickly soared into the streamer’s coveted Top 10 lineup, as viewers tuned in to hear the stories of three women that fell victim to Leviev’s massive scheme. Leviev, dubbed “the Tinder Swindler,” has since been banned from the dating app Tinder, but, despite his wrongdoings, remains a free man.

The Tinder Swindler follows Cecilie Fjellhoy, Pernilla Sjoholm, and Ayleen Charlotte—three strangers with one common denominator: Simon Leviev. Each of them found Simon on Tinder and was wooed by his lavish lifestyle and generosity. Simon took them on private planes, to elegant restaurants, and luxury hotels, projecting a fake identity as the heir to a diamond empire. Once the women trusted him and loved him, he preyed upon them, convincing them their money was the only thing that could save him.
