People living in the UK have been issued with several scam warnings over the past few months.
Some of them have been in relation to Covid whilst others have been about the 2022 Census.
Recently Glasgow Live reported that Advice Direct Scotland (ASD), who runs the national consumer advice service consumeradvice.scot, have said that people need to remain vigilant now.
Invitations to complete the questionnaire have now been sent out however whilst people are still filling them in, they have been warned to look out for potential fraudsters attempting to gather personal or financial information.
The charity said scammers may request money for a fine or fee or ask for personal information such as your national insurance number, bank details or debit or credit card details.
They added that Scotland’s Census will never ask for money or any form of personal financial details.
ASD have also said that a new scam has come to light around the Ukraine and Russian conflict.
In their warning they urge people to be cautious due to fraudsters attempting to “exploit the humanitarian crisis” in Ukraine by taking advantage of people who want to help.
These include donation scams where attempts are made to lure people in with “fake elaborate stories” alongside requests for money.
