The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Delhi Police unearthed a scam worth Rs 4.6 crore in which more than 40 people were allegedly cheated in the name of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) land pooling policy.

Special Commissioner of Police (Crime) Devesh Srivastava said that the arrested accused have been identified as Jatin Gulrajani (39), a property dealer and his aide Raj Kumar (42), who runs a computer repair business. Both the accused have been arrested after cops launched an investigation into the matter.

45 people cheated

Srivastava was quoted by PTI as saying that an amount to the tune of Rs 4.6 crore was received from 45 members in the name of land pooling policy of DDA. The police officer said that an agreement was made by an enterprise on behalf of society for the purchase of land at a price of Rs 4 crore per acre. But, the agreement with the owner of land was made by the middle agency for Rs 2.25 crore per acre.

According to the police, 90 per cent of the amount was transferred to the account of the enterprise. The report revealed that the enterprise received a handsome commission for providing members and arranging land for society. The owner of the enterprise is Raj…
