Kings Mountain Police are investigating several complaints of investment fraud concerning a local business.
According to a press release, the department is investigating D & T Investment Group and asking any investors with concerns to file an official securities complaint with the North Carolina Secretary of State’s office.
Complaints can be filed online at sosnc.gov/online_services/securities/start_a_complaint.
Earlier this month people who invested with D&T Investment Group began accusing the business of fraud. The business’s office on Kings Street appears to be closed. Investors with the company said employees there also stopped returning phone calls.
The Star made multiple attempts to reach D&T Investment Group. The business’s Kings Mountain office is locked, and the main phone has been disconnected. Attempts to reach individual employees, including owners Delano Page and Brandon Teague, were not successful.
According to state records, D&T Investment Group was incorporated as a limited liability company in October 2020. The registered address is in Charlotte. According to the business’s website, it has offices in Kings Mountain and Greensboro
The pitch for D&T Investment Group was simple – a person could invest money with the group and every month the company would invest the money for them and split any profits 70% to 30% favoring the investor.
