Online scams have been on the rise in the country like the crypto scam involving millions of dollars of Pakistani citizens. Now, the Pakistan Information technology board has posted a disclaimer on its official website regarding an online scam. According to PITB,  some fake accounts are cheating the general public by offering fake employment opportunities at PITB. In return, the accounts are demanding amounts in form of registration fees, etc. by different means.

As per the official website, the fraud is being done by sending fake emails through different email websites such as Yahoo, Hotmail, or Gmail. Furthermore, they are also issuing fake employment letters that have official logos of PITB and its related projects.

Message from the PITB:

In order to tackle the scam, PITB has issued a message regarding how it hires individuals for any job. According to the PITB,

It is being informed that PITB only advertises the vacancies in national newspapers and on official Punjab Job Portal i.e. https://www.jobs.punjab.gov.pk where candidates are required to apply without paying any fee at any stage. Moreover, all correspondence from PITB is being done by email domain ending with @pitb.gov.pk followed by phone call from HR Wing.
