Gurugram police filed a complaint against a man for allegedly posing as an IPS officer and cheating a city-based construction firm of Rs 37 crores. The complaint was filed by Davinder Yadav (55), who is employed as a government contractor in the construction business.
The victim claimed that the accused posed as an IPS officer posted at National Security Guard (NSG), Manesar, and claimed to provide construction contracts for various work inside the campus. The accused has been identified as. Praveen Yadav, who had first met the complainant in June 2021 inside the NSG campus, the Times of India (TOI) reported.
Accused visited campus many times
The accused showed his identity card, photograph, designation and visited the campus on multiple occasions to win the trust of the victim and lure him into the tender process.
Victim Yadav was quoted by TOI as saying that in one of the meetings, the accused showed an NSG identity card having his photograph and designation as group commander. The victim reportedly fell into a trap as it is not possible to enter the NSG campus without taking the permission of a senior official.
