
How to watch the League’s District 2 supervisor candidate forum
The League of Women Voters of the Redding Area on Wednesday evening recorded a candidate forum that voters who will be casting ballots in the Shasta County District 2 recall election can watch on Thursday morning.
Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and rising case rates, the 90-minute event was closed to the public. In attendance were Supervisor Leonard Moty, who represents the district and is fighting a recall, and Dale Ball and Tim Garman, two of four candidates who are vying to replace him.
Early voting is underway in the Feb. 1 special election.
The nonpartisan group said the recording will be available at 8 a.m. Thursday on the following sites:
The forum will be broadcast on Charter Spectrum channel 181 by SCAC.tv at 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. daily from Thursday to Sunday, Jan. 16.
Moty, a retired Redding police chief, has served on the board since 2008.
Garman is the board president of the Happy Valley Unified School District, while Dale Ball is a construction superintendent who ran unsuccessfully against Moty in 2020.
