Fraud: Rose Boulevard

Ohio Savings Bank reported Jan. 20 that a 70-year-old resident may have been involved in a scam. The resident was believed to have been following directions from an unknown person to open up a second account.

Officers spoke to the man and confirmed he was being scammed and his actions had led to a total loss of $719, which included a prepaid credit card he sent to an unknown person. He was advised it was a scam and told to follow up with his bank.

Theft: Wilson Mills Road

Home Depot loss prevention reported Jan. 18 that a man tried to steal merchandise and then fled from the store and entered a waiting vehicle. Officers did not locate the suspected vehicle and the matter was not pursued as no merchandise was believed to have been stolen.

General assistance: West Glengary Circle

The service department reported Jan. 18 that a snow plow contractor was refusing to stop placing snow into the roadway.

Officers located the man and learned that there had been an argument between him and service department workers. He was advised not to leave snow in the street.

Suspicious person: Wilson Mills Road

A man said Jan. 19 that a known solicitor was in the Home Depot Parking lot earlier speaking to people. He said the man first asks for directions and then asks for money after telling a hard luck story.

A special attention request was put on file to keep watch for the suspect.
