
SOLON, Ohio — Domestic violence: Sedgefield Oval
At 6:50 p.m. Jan. 4, police were called to a home where a domestic violence incident was in progress involving a man, 55, and his daughter, 26, who lives in the home. Officers learned that both parties engaged in physical violence, that a mirror was broken, and that both were cut.
The man and his daughter were taken to a hospital for treatment, then both were arrested on charges of domestic violence.
Harassing communication: Westminster Drive
At 3:50 p.m. Jan. 3, a Solon woman, 62, reported a series of instances of unwelcome behavior by her ex-boyfriend, 59, of University Heights. The woman ended their relationship between Dec. 7 and 20, but the man continued to try and contact her by phone and via text messages.
Solon police had warned the man against continuing to the contact the woman, but he persisted. Police arrested the man Jan. 5 and charged him with harassing communication and criminal trespass.
Theft: S.O.M. Center Road
At 9:25 p.m. Jan. 4, a counterfeit $5 bill was found in the till at Chick-fil-A, 6150 S.O.M. Center Road. It was not known who passed the phony bill.
OVI: Aurora Road
At 2:25 a.m. Jan. 5, an officer spotted a car speeding on eastbound US 422, traveling 80 miles per hour in a 60-mile-per-hour zone. The officer followed as the car exited US 422 and was driven in an erratic manner on Harper Road. The officer attempted to make a traffic stop, but the car did not immediately stop.
