POLICE are investigating two internet frauds which saw a four figure sum stolen from Largs householders.

In one incident, £3,000 was scammed, while the second saw £70 taken from a bank account.

One was carried out after the victim answered an advert on social media.

Sergeant Mark Semple has reminded people in local area to be wary when going online.

He said: “Any unsolicited approaches or requests asking for personal information or money should simply not be met. These include approaches by doorstep callers, emails, telephone calls or social media platforms.
